Robert G. Fowler, Jr, Esquire Scholarship
FOR 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR
Criteria
Students must be majoring in either Political Science or International Studies and demonstrate strong interest in the other discipline. Special consideration will be given to those students meeting these criteria and considering a career in law. At least sixty (60) hours of university course work (including transfer hours), incorporating a minimum of twelve (12) hours in international/cross-cultural studies, must be completed by the end of the Spring 2018 semester with an overall grade point average of at least 3.2. Participation in extra-curricular (e.g., Model United Nations, Pre-Law Society) and/or community activities is expected. The Scholarship is for the 2018-2019 academic year. Scholarship recipients must be enrolled as undergraduate degree seeking students at UNC Charlotte in 2018-2019.
Application Procedures
Qualified students may apply for the scholarship by going to the university website at scholarships.charlotte.edu. A completed application consists of a resume, an introductory letter to the scholarship committee (stating personal interests, qualifications, and academic and career aspiration), a two to three page essay, written specifically for this scholarship, regarding an international issue, event or challenge that is of a particular interest to you, and three letters of reference (including at least one from a UNC Charlotte faculty member).
